The Yazidi Genocide Archive is proud to announce the publication of its first round of archival materials. This includes seven oral history interviews with Yazidi survivors and community members, two interviews with scholars of Islamic and Yazidi history, and 14 primary sources produced by Yazidis, the Islamic State, and the United States government. They highlight topics as diverse as the Islamic State’s siege of Mount Sinjar during the 2014 genocide, the history of the Yazidi religion, and Yazidi life in Germany.
These 23 materials are integral to the Archive’s mission of educating the public about the Yazidi Genocide, as well as increasing awareness about Yazidi history, religion, and culture. More materials will be uploaded as they are translated, edited, and transcribed. We look forward to expanding the Archive’s collection in the coming months. We hope that you will find our archival materials informative. Please feel free to message us with any questions or comments.
